About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for population-specific patients from simple to complex cases
- Use growth and development principles to assess patient status and age-specific needs
- Build caring relationships with patients, families, and significant others
- Collaborate with healthcare workers and perform nursing and medical interventions using sound judgment
- Adhere to specialty and organizational standards, policies, procedures, guidelines, and protocols
- Report to the Director and/or Nurse Manager
- Participate in supervision of Licensed Nursing Assistants and unlicensed personnel
- Gather and interpret patient history and physical assessment data
- Develop, evaluate, and revise patient care plans and nursing actions
- Document care and patient progress toward desired outcomes
- Direct and supervise delegated nursing activities
- Teach patients and significant others about the plan of care
- Prepare patients to manage care after discharge, transfer, or procedures/tests
- Manage time and resources to deliver patient care
- Administer medications and provide direct patient care
- Lead the healthcare team
- Serve as a resource person for the assigned shift
- Precept new employees
- Perform job-specific requirements and other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing
- Registered Nurse licensure with the New Hampshire Board of Nursing
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
- One year of prior clinical nursing experience
- Ability to work effectively and positively with patients, care providers, and the multidisciplinary team
- Ability to perform as a member of a team
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care
- Ability to perform nursing and medical interventions safely
- Ability to administer medications and provide direct patient care
- Ability to supervise delegated nursing activities and unlicensed personnel as needed
- Ability to meet the stated physical and work-environment requirements, including medium material handling and exposure to pathogens and bodily fluids
