About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responds to requests for patient care assistance as delegated by the Registered Nurse (RN)
- Maintains skill level to perform patient care tasks, to include, intravenous catheter insertion and medication administration, as delegated by the RN
- Maintains skill level to administer medications as delegated by the RN
- Collects and processes laboratory specimens
- Maintains department supplies and equipment
- Assists with clerical duties
- Performs job specific requirements and other duties as assigned
- Serves as a preceptor for new employees
Requirements
What you’ll need- National Registry Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician-Advanced (EMT-A) or Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA)
- Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
- One year of prior experience as an EMT or LNA
- Evidence of experience working effectively and positively with patients, care providers, and the multi-disciplinary team
- Evidence of the ability to perform as a member of a team
- High school or equivalent (GED)
