About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Works with the registered nurse to conduct the Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Program
Provides treatment and education in the areas of deficit to assist patients in safely regaining functional abilities
Conducts/supervises Cardiac and Pulmonary Maintenance Exercise Program classes
Completes Cardiac Rehabilitation Program evaluations
Documents patient data
Demonstrates group exercise leadership skills
Provides group and individual exercise education
Clinically monitors patient
Provides patients with a home exercise program (HEP)

Requirements

What you’ll need

Four years of formal training or education beyond the high school level (e.g., Bachelors Degree)
Certification required: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification, or equivalent course credentialed by American Heart Association
One year of experience as an Exercise Specialist preferred
Must possess knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan
