About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assists in the examination and treatment of patients
- Rooming patients, chart preparation, medication refills & medication prior authorizations
- Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients, including stocking and cleaning
- Schedules patient appointments and orders referral per practice specific guidelines
- Greets patients and escorts them to exam room
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program preferred but will accept applicants with healthcare experience
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification or Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers.
- With completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, no experience is required. For other candidates at least 1 year of healthcare experience preferred.
- Follows guidelines and prescribed format for answering the phone
- Demonstrates clinical skill in practice
- Uses software (Cerner, GroupWise, etc.) following established protocols for documentation
