About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead Skanska’s data governance strategy, operating model, and roadmap in alignment with Group principles and business priorities
Implement governance policies, standards, and frameworks covering data ownership, classification, access, retention, and lifecycle management
Identify and prioritize critical data assets and ensure governance practices support information security, operational resilience, and business continuity
Work closely with Group and Business Unit stakeholders across IT, cybersecurity, legal, privacy, risk, and business functions
Drive accountability by defining, enabling, and supporting data ownership and stewardship roles
Ensure governance controls are clearly documented, implemented, and evidenced to support audit, compliance, and assurance activities
Monitor data governance maturity, identify gaps and risks, and lead continuous improvement initiatives
Build awareness and adoption of data governance practices through communication, guidance, and training

Requirements

What you’ll need

BSc or MSc in data management, information governance, security, risk, or a related field
5+ years of proven experience leading data governance, information governance, or data risk and compliance initiatives
Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, information controls, and regulatory expectations in an enterprise environment
Demonstrated experience in governance framework and policy development
Expertise in data classification, access, and retention governance
Fluency in English; Swedish is a plus
