Key responsibilities & impact

Lead our Platform Software Engineering team, which owns our research, market-making, and risk management platforms.
Design and scale the core data infrastructure powering all of these platforms.
Work closely with researchers developing our price forecasting and grid optimization technology.
Collaborate with senior leadership across our Research and Business Operations teams.
Manage both senior IC work and people management.

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, with 2+ years experience as an engineering manager.
You are a hands on leader that enjoys staying close to the code and day-to-day technical decisions of the team.
You have experience leading complex engineering projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
You are an excellent coder, system architect, and mentor of engineers of different seniority levels.
You are experienced and comfortable building and designing data systems with traditional relational databases as well as cloud-based data warehouses.
Experience with machine learning concepts and technology is a plus.
You are a lifelong learner and empathetic teacher. We’re committed to the growth and development of our teammates. We work towards a shared understanding by listening with intent and holding open discussions because we know that's how we'll deliver quality results.
We believe strong foundations are more important than specific technical knowledge, but experience with any part of our stack (Python, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, AWS) is a plus.
