About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform maintenance and repair on large helicopters, including airframes, components, and associated ground support equipment
- Utilized specialized structural repair and airframe maintenance skills to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve aircraft issues
- Executed all assigned work in accordance with company maintenance procedures and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs)
- Conducted thorough inspections to ensure airworthiness, promptly identifying and reporting any maintenance discrepancies or safety concerns to supervisory personnel
- Maintaining the aircraft to ensure airworthy condition
- Ensuring that all log books and forms recording the work performed are accurate and are maintained to FAA and CHI standards
- Gaining access to all portions of aircraft for maintenance and inspection purposes
- Give on the job training to other employees
- Performing maintenance on ground support equipment
- Driving company vehicles
- Crawling under, working overhead, and climbing onto the top of the helicopter
- Lifting aircraft components and support equipment
- Travel with assigned aircraft and crew to various states
- Job location may be North America or Overseas locations
Requirements
What you’ll need- FAA Airframe License & valid driver’s license
- Minimum of 5 years of structural repair experience, preferably on BV 107-II and/or BV 234 type aircraft desirable
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have thorough knowledge of in-depth structural repairs
- Must be proficient with aircraft structural repair manuals
- Proficient with reading structural drawings & prints
- Be familiar with FAR part 135 maintenance program requirements (CAMP)
- Be familiar with FAR part 43 Major/Minor determination repair criteria
- Proficient with the use and care of structural repair tools to include, rivet guns & sets, drills, shavers, shrinker – stretcher, machines, sheet metal brakes, paint equipment, presses, & etc.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
