About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Source and develop full banking relationships with professional developers and sophisticated commercial real estate investors
  • Serve as relationship lead for lending, deposit, and other bank products
  • Identify opportunities and provide CRE financing solutions, including construction, bridge, and permanent loans
  • Lead underwriting and analyst teams managing a large, complex CRE portfolio
  • Source new CRE relationships and manage and deepen existing relationships
  • Coordinate underwriting, approval, and documentation of complex CRE loans with underwriters, loan administrators, and outside counsel
  • Set and meet client expectations and drive an exceptional customer experience
  • Collaborate with Treasury Management and Global Payment and Deposit Services to develop relationships across multiple bank products
  • Drive overall relationship strategy and enhance relationships across multiple bank products
  • Monitor portfolio credit quality and identify and communicate credit risk through monthly, quarterly, and annual status reports
  • Analyze CRE financing opportunities, design credit structures and pricing, and prepare internal financing memos
  • Manage preparation of credit committee memos and review credit presentations
  • Conduct due diligence, including lease reviews and analysis of appraisals and third-party reports
  • Analyze sponsors' contingent debt, liquidity, global cash flow, and ability to meet financial obligations
  • Work on lending opportunities across the western United States for clients in the assigned market
  • Maintain regulatory and policy compliance and complete required training
  • Coach, mentor, or train others as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of experience in commercial real estate lending
  • Proven track record independently developing and growing a large, complex CRE portfolio while balancing business development and asset quality
  • Deep experience working in relationship management teams
  • Excellent relationship management, business development, analytical, problem-solving, sales, credit, and credit quality skills
  • Strong client relationship and internal partnering skills
  • High emotional intelligence
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company
  • Ability to partner effectively with senior credit officers
  • Expert credit analysis and underwriting skills, including accounting, financial statement, and cash flow analysis
  • Expert knowledge of commercial real estate lending policies, procedures, practices, and documentation
  • Extensive knowledge of bank products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with personal computers and software such as Word and Excel
  • Thorough knowledge of the bank's risk-rating system and credit and underwriting policies
  • Strong working knowledge of structuring credit products for commercial real estate businesses/entities with complex ownership structures
  • Education in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent in Business Administration is preferred
