About the role

  • Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for DevX end-to-end: CI/CD, release automation, testing infrastructure, source control, compliance tooling, developer productivity, and AI-assisted development.
  • Identify where AI agents, automation, and LLMs can meaningfully change how Coinbase engineers work, including test generation, code review, bug detection, and refactoring.
  • Find the highest-leverage opportunities to improve engineering velocity, reliability, and developer experience.
  • Keep infrastructure fundamentals reliable and performant. Our AI ambitions depend on it.
  • Define success metrics (build times, deployment frequency, CI reliability, developer satisfaction) and drive toward measurable outcomes.
  • Make tradeoff decisions that balance developer experience, reliability, security, and cost.
  • Build deep understanding of your users (Coinbase engineers) through research, data, and direct feedback.
  • Ensure tooling meets security and compliance requirements in a regulated environment.
  • Partner with engineering to turn strategy into executable plans and stay close enough to execution to unblock progress.
  • Lead evaluation of AI tools, technologies, and vendors with clear build vs. buy recommendations.
  • Drive adoption of what you ship, not just launches.
  • Communicate roadmap, progress, and tradeoffs to senior leadership including VPs and C-level executives across Infrastructure, Platform, and Engineering.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of product management experience.
  • 2+ years owning strategy and roadmaps for developer tools, developer platforms, or infrastructure products.
  • Track record of shipping products that improved developer productivity with measurable results.
  • You have a point of view on how AI will change software development, grounded in experience or a clear thesis.
  • Ability to operate independently: you set priorities, define success metrics, and drive outcomes without waiting for direction.
  • Technical depth: you can discuss CI/CD systems, build pipelines, and developer workflows with engineers without needing everything explained.
  • You think like a marketplace PM: you understand both the platform capabilities you're building and the engineer workflows you're serving, and you know how to balance them.
  • Experience partnering with engineering organizations of 50+ engineers to drive prioritization and alignment.
  • Strong judgment on tradeoffs: you know when to optimize for speed vs. reliability, when to build vs. buy, and when to push back.
  • Clear, direct communication: you write well, run effective meetings, and can influence VP and C-level leadership.
  • Comfortable operating in a regulated environment where security and compliance are real constraints.

  • Health insurance
  • 401(k)
