About the role Improve observability, reliability and availability by defining and measuring key metrics Build automation and improve systems to eliminate toil and operations work Collaborate with core infrastructure to performance tune and optimize cloud deployments (Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, EC2, etc.) Collaborate with product teams to reduce service disruptions and automate incident response Proactively find and analyze reliability problems and design and implement software to create step-function improvements Educate, mentor and hold accountable the engineering team to improve reliability Write high quality, well tested code to meet customer needs Debug extremely difficult technical problems and make systems easier to deploy, own, operate and diagnose Review feature designs within product area and across the company for cross-cutting projects Own the security, safety, scale, operational integrity, and architectural clarity of designs Build pipelines to integrate with 3rd party vendors Participate in an on-call support rotation to provide timely troubleshooting and resolution of urgent issues. Requirements 7+ years of experience in software engineering Designed, built, scaled and maintained production services Ability to compose a service oriented architecture Write high quality, well tested code Passionate about building an open financial system Strong technical skills for system design and coding Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong skills around observability, debugging and performance tuning Strong interpersonal skills working with Engineers from junior to principal levels Demonstrated critical thinking under pressure Willingness to dive into understanding, debugging, and improving any layer of the stack On-call availability to ensure swift resolution of issues outside regular business hours Nice-to-haves: experience designing reliable high-throughput low-latency systems Nice-to-haves: experience with Kibana, Datadog or other observability/monitoring systems Nice-to-haves: experience in Ruby, Go, and Terraform Nice-to-haves: experience with AWS, GCP, Azure or other cloud environments Nice-to-haves: experience working in highly regulated environments Nice-to-haves: experience writing company-facing blog posts and training materials Nice-to-haves: crypto-forward experience including interacting with Ethereum addresses, ENS, and dApps target bonus target equity benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)) Team and company-wide offsites (attendance expected and supported) Copy Applicant Tracking System Keywords Tip: use these terms in your resume and cover letter to boost ATS matches.
