About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and maintain Shopify storefronts and themes, with a focus on performance, responsiveness, and clean Liquid.
  • Develop embedded Shopify apps that run inside the Shopify admin, including OAuth install flows, session token authentication, and admin interfaces.

  • Work with Shopify Admin, Storefront, and Cart APIs, along with webhooks and App Proxy.
  • Model structured content and configuration using metaobjects and metafields.
  • Design and maintain backend services and database schemas that support app functionality.
  • Integrate with third-party systems and APIs such as ERPs, CRMs, 3PLs, and support platforms, with sensible handling of failures, retries, and timeouts.
  • Handle API credentials and sensitive data securely, including encryption at rest and keeping secrets out of logs and user interfaces.
  • Translate designs from the design team into working, accessible interfaces.
  • Write unit and integration tests as part of normal delivery.
  • Troubleshoot and debug across the stack, from storefront rendering through to backend integration failures.
  • Take part in code review and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
