Key responsibilities & impact

Provide technical leadership across the refactoring of legacy applications for a Tech Debt programme
Guide technical design and ensure architectural alignment
Assure the quality of key deliverables for transition to AWS
Direct the technical design, development, and cloud migration of key applications
Oversee technical decisions for alignment with enterprise architecture standards
Review and assure critical technical artefacts, codebases, and architectural documentation
Guide the breakdown and refactoring of legacy technical debt into scalable cloud components
Partner with client teams, specialists, and external suppliers across a large-scale programme environment

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven experience leading technical delivery for application migrations to AWS cloud infrastructure
Strong track record working in complex, multi-supplier project environments
Demonstrated experience with integration design or overseeing integration-focused components
Familiarity with Java frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, Struts, or JSF (nice to have)
Familiarity with core libraries such as Apache Commons or Guava (nice to have)
Familiarity with microservices architecture and tooling such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Swagger/OpenAPI (nice to have)
Prior experience delivering digital transformation or cloud projects within the UK public sector (nice to have)
