About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assist with the day-to-day management of the company's financial records, including maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records
Perform bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions and reconciling accounts
Participate in the preparation of financial reports
Support senior team members with financial analysis and reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with German GAAP and tax regulations
Approving of invoices and expenses
Preparation and booking of accruals and provisions
Maintenance of fixed assets
Booking of bank statements and credit card reconciliations
Processing and control of payments
Reconciliation of balance sheet, income statement accounts and of creditors and customers
Preparation of the VAT declaration and tax reports
Support by preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and audit

Requirements

What you’ll need

You have at least 1–2 years of professional experience in accounting or a similar finance-related role.
You are fluent in German and have a good professional level of English.
You have an academic degree in Accounting or a comparable education/qualification (CPA, ACCA or equivalent)
Knowledge of accounting principles and experience with bookkeeping
You have first experience with accounting software and ERP tools (NetSuite)
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
You have a good track record of working collaboratively and successfully in a cross-functional and multi-cultural environment, bonus if you have worked in fast-paced/scaling organizations or Start-ups before
Knowledge of German Local GAAP and German Taxation would be an advantage
