About the role
- Own the end-to-end monthly Incurred But Not Reported (IBNR) accrual process, ensuring the development and maintenance of adequate reserve levels for timely financial close.
- Maintain and uphold robust SOX controls across all reserving and reporting processes, including meticulous documentation of processes, assumptions, and actuarial judgments for audit readiness.
- Own the Member Level Financial Pipeline Development and Maintenance, including implementing and reviewing control checks and peer reviews to validate data accuracy for strategic financial goals.
- Lead the preparation and review of the comprehensive monthly financial reporting suite and conduct in-depth variance analysis (actuals vs. budget) for management and external stakeholders.
- Foster a positive work environment, set clear performance expectations, actively support the professional growth of team members through mentorship, and ensure strong collaboration across departments.
Requirements
- You are an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA).
- You have a minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in the actuarial field, with a strong background in reserving, IBNR calculation, and financial reporting, preferably within the Medicare Advantage or managed care industry.
- You have proven experience managing, developing, and mentoring an actuarial or finance team.
- You have advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, R, SAS, or Python).
