About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Move SBA loans through application submission, approval, processing and closing
  • Serve as primary liaison between the BDO, Underwriter, borrower and SBA for collateral review and loan documentation
  • Manage loan application pipelines and coordinate with the Lender Service Provider and Loan Operations for timely closings and funding
  • Facilitate loan closings, manage due diligence, follow up and communicate proactively with stakeholders
  • Stay current on SBA SOP changes and review loans for SBA eligibility
  • Ensure loan files meet SBA and bank standards and are entered into ETRAN for approval
  • Build relationships with borrowers and internal stakeholders and address questions, concerns and issues promptly
  • Complete compliance and IT training and follow bank policies, procedures and regulations
  • Question suspicious activity and collaborate to help prevent fraud

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3–5 years of dedicated SBA experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or another business-related field highly desired
  • Excellent SBA SOP knowledge
  • Ability to independently manage packaging and closing processes in a high-volume environment
  • Ability to anticipate and mitigate slowdowns while balancing efficiency and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational, time-management and checklist skills
  • Confident, precise and professional communication skills
  • Knowledge of financial products and services, applicable regulations and laws
  • Ability to interpret financial reports and legal documents
  • Ability to learn new tools quickly and use technology to create efficiencies
  • Ability to work Eastern Standard Hours
  • Valid U.S. work authorization; visa sponsorship is not offered
  • Must affirm being a non-smoker or commit to cessation within 90 days of offer acceptance
  • Successful completion of cognitive and personality assessments, credit and background checks, and reference checks
