About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee and support daily accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Assist with preparation and review of financial reports and analyses
- Monitor accounting processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls
- Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Research and resolve accounting issues and variances
- Prepare and analyze financial information and provide recommendations to management
- Support internal and external audit activities and provide requested documentation
- Assist with maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Participate in special projects and ad hoc financial and accounting analyses
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting-related issues and ensure timely and accurate financial information
- Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Previous accounting experience, preferably in a supervisory or management capacity
- Experience supervising, mentoring, or leading accounting staff
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including analyzing and manipulating financial data
- Experience performing ad hoc financial and accounting analyses
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and practices
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team
- Experience with an ERP/accounting system (preferred)
- Experience with month-end close and financial reporting (preferred)
- Experience in a healthcare or multi-entity accounting environment (preferred)
