About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the junior attorney for renewable energy transactions, in particular tax equity transactions (investor- and sponsor-side) and tax credit transfer transactions.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex tax issues.
  • Draft legal memoranda, opinions, and tax-related documents.
  • Collaborate with clients, CEC colleagues, and other professionals on tax matters.
  • Assist with tax due diligence reviews and transactional documentation.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1–3 years of experience at a law firm serving clients in the renewable energy and related industries.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from accredited law school
  • LL.M. in Taxation from accredited law school
  • Substantive experience advising on tax matters for renewable energy projects, including research and drafting of legal opinions, with familiarity in Investment and Production Tax Credits, tax equity and tax credit transfer transactions, beginning of construction analyses, and related issues.
  • Strong experience with Subchapter K.
  • Ability to analyze complex tax issues and deliver practical, business-oriented solutions, including support for broader transactional tax matters across firm practice groups.
  • Strong deal management capabilities, with excellent drafting, communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and written work product.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Admission to, and good standing with, the Bar in the applicant’s state of residence.
  • Demonstrated alignment with and commitment to the firm’s mission.
