About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the growing Nonprofit Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) practice in Southern New England
  • Assist in managing a team of 8–10 accounting and finance professionals
  • Deliver outsourced accounting solutions to clients
  • Provide CFO consulting services
  • Implement strategic initiatives to grow the team and scale outsourcing operations
  • Partner with client leadership on operational and strategic issues
  • Provide recommendations based on financial analysis of projections, cost identification and allocation, and revenue/expense analysis
  • Monitor budgets and present operational metrics
  • Develop knowledge of GAAP and financial and operational aspects of specific industries
  • Ensure financial records are maintained according to appropriate principles and monitor use of funds
  • Manage cash flow, forecasting, and financial accounting
  • Manage capital planning and risk management
  • Interact with boards of directors
  • Manage multiple client engagements and build strong client relationships

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree is required; combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree
  • 8 years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience required
  • Experience in the nonprofit industry required
  • Experience using personal and professional networks for business development
  • Proven record of building and managing teams through growth
  • CPA highly preferred but not required
  • Frequent local travel to/from client sites
  • Occasional non-local or overnight travel may be required
