About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform Assistant Controller functions as part of the client’s accounting services team and manage these functions for clients
- Act as a consultant and advisor to clients on best practices for accounting and finance-related engagements
- Manage multiple clients, work, and deadlines using project management expertise
- Prepare and analyze client financial statements and make recommendations
- Foster and build opportunities for clients, communities, and people
- Become an industry professional and attend industry-leading events and training
- Maintain knowledge of clients’ organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6 years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience required
- Experience in Nonprofit Industry is strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree is required; combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP
- Proficiency in accounting software, e.g. QuickBooks, Intacct, Great Plains, Yardi, MRI, Timberline, Sage, Foundations, Xero, Peoplesoft
