About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform Assistant Controller functions as part of clients’ accounting services teams and manage these functions for clients
  • Act as a consultant and advisor on accounting and finance-related best practices
  • Manage multiple clients, projects, workstreams, and deadlines
  • Prepare and analyze client financial statements and make recommendations
  • Foster and build opportunities for clients, communities, and people
  • Attend industry-leading events and training
  • Maintain knowledge of client organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6 years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience required
  • Experience in Connecticut Government strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP
  • MUNIS experience strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Intacct, Great Plains, Yardi, MRI, Timberline, Sage, Foundations, and Peoplesoft
