About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform Assistant Controller functions as part of clients’ accounting services teams and manage these functions for clients
- Act as a consultant and advisor on accounting and finance-related best practices
- Manage multiple clients, projects, workstreams, and deadlines
- Prepare and analyze client financial statements and make recommendations
- Foster and build opportunities for clients, communities, and people
- Attend industry-leading events and training
- Maintain knowledge of client organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6 years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience required
- Experience in Connecticut Government strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree required
- Combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP
- MUNIS experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Intacct, Great Plains, Yardi, MRI, Timberline, Sage, Foundations, and Peoplesoft
