About the role
- Work in a team setting on complex partnership transactions.
- Manage engagements in the establishment of IRC Section 704(b) and inside tax capital accounts.
- Track and allocate IRC 704(c) built-in gains and losses.
- Responsible for project management, quality, and development of staff members.
- Keep team and client informed of engagement progress and issues encountered.
- Keep up to date with new federal tax developments.
- Ability to scope projects and be part of the sales process.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- CPA license certification is required.
- A JD degree or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification may be accepted in lieu of a CPA license.
- Minimum of 5 years of public accounting or professional services experience working with partnership tax compliance.
- Strong accounting skills and creation of tax basis balance sheets.
- Working understanding of subchapter K.
- Familiarity with targeted allocations and complex partnership transactions.
- Ability to communicate subchapter K technical concepts with clients and prospects in a manner that non-tax individuals will understand.
- Microsoft Excel experience is required.
- Alteryx experience is preferred.
