About the role
- Completing journal entries and analysis of assigned funds.
- Assisting with the completion of the City's annual external audit.
- Supporting the creation of the annual comprehensive financial report.
- Providing other financial reporting.
- Completing regular accounting functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Three (3) years of experience with complicated practices and precedents and an in-depth knowledge of governmental accounting practices.
- Must have in-depth knowledge of governmental accounting practices to create detailed records and to complete the annual audit and monthly reconciliations of assigned funds.
- Knowledge of grants, federal regulations, reporting, and compliance.
- Knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job,
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Five (5) years of governmental accounting experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) guidelines preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred.
- Report building experience with Power BI, Oracle BI, or another business intelligence program preferred.
