About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare and review tax returns, extensions, and projections for C-Corporation, S-Corporation, partnership, and individual clients
  • Apply federal and state tax law
  • Perform tax research to resolve issues
  • Maintain frequent client contact and manage day-to-day client relationship issues
  • Communicate engagement needs and client needs effectively
  • Proactively ensure the Manager, Director, or Partner is apprised of issues
  • Train, develop, and mentor junior staff
  • Build an internal and external network
  • Participate in firm business development opportunities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years of professional experience, preferably in a mid-size public accounting firm
  • CPA preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of federal and state tax laws, including corporate, individual, and partnership taxation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong client service skills
  • Highly motivated and able to work individually and in team settings
  • Outstanding analytical, organizational, and project management skills
  • Knowledge of CCH Axcess, Sureprep, XCM, and Caseware is a plus
