About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare tax closings, close books, and prepare tax returns
  • Assist with coordinating planning, fieldwork, and wrap-up activities
  • Research accounting issues and perform tax research to resolve issues
  • Report temporary and permanent book/tax differences
  • Handle miscellaneous tax filings, including sales tax, payroll tax returns, and 1099s
  • Analyze and review client accounting records and financial statements
  • Work with client accounting records and software, including QuickBooks
  • Review and verify journal-entry accuracy and accounting classifications
  • Communicate with clients and build strong client relationships
  • Mentor and train junior staff
  • Communicate work status and client issues to the Manager and/or Director

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar field required
  • 3 plus years of experience gained within a public accounting firm required
  • CPA or CPA eligible preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Sense of urgency when approaching projects
  • Outstanding analytical, organizational, and project management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of CCH Axcess, CaseWare, and GoFileRoom is a plus
