About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Plan and execute the migration to Visual Studio 2017
Adapt and optimize the build toolchain (CMake, MSBuild, Ninja)
Update CI/CD pipelines and Windows build environments
Analyze and resolve build, compiler, and linker errors
Migrate and validate third-party libraries as well as SDK/runtime dependencies
Execute automated tests and ensure build and release quality
Create rollout concepts, documentation, and perform knowledge transfer
Monitor and optimize build stability and performance

Requirements

What you’ll need

Several years of hands-on experience with Visual Studio (especially VS2017) and MSVC toolchains (v141)
Proficient with CMake, MSBuild, and build generators; experience with Ninja is an advantage
Experience with CI/CD systems (Jenkins and/or GitLab CI) and configuring Windows build agents
Solid knowledge of C++ (build error analysis, linkers, ABI/CRT fragility)
Experience with compiler/toolchain migrations (e.g., VS2015 → VS2017) and handling incompatibilities
Good skills in Batch/PowerShell and Python for automating installation, provisioning, and tests
Experience with automated testing and test frameworks (ideally Boost.Test)
Analytical, independent working style and experience creating rollout/fallback strategies
Very good spoken and written German is required for effective communication within the project environment and with our German-speaking clients.
