About the role

  • Administration, configuration and documentation of the firewall infrastructure
  • Planning and coordination of firewall infrastructure rollouts (hardware, software, operating systems, applications)
  • Ensuring compliance with SLAs (response and resolution times) in ticket handling
  • Creating change requests as part of the service
  • Introducing and documenting new techniques to optimize the service
  • Maintaining a knowledge base

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification
  • Extensive experience administering Check Point firewalls
  • Solid networking knowledge (internet and routing protocols, IPv4, IPv6)
  • Understanding of IT security concepts
  • ITIL knowledge and experience with ITSM tools
  • Knowledge of NetBox (IPAM) and Git
  • Basic knowledge of Linux
  • Knowledge of Ansible, Terraform and Python is desirable
  • Experience in service level management as well as incident and problem management
  • Familiarity with tools such as ServiceNow, Jira and Confluence
  • Basic CI/CD knowledge: experience with Git and GitLab CI for automation
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration in interdisciplinary teams
  • Analytical thinking: strong problem-solving skills and analytical approach to resolve complex database and storage issues
  • Very good spoken and written German is required for effective communication in the project environment and with our German-speaking customers.
