About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administration, configuration and documentation of the firewall infrastructure
- Planning and coordination of firewall infrastructure rollouts (hardware, software, operating systems, applications)
- Ensuring compliance with SLAs (response and resolution times) in ticket handling
- Creating change requests as part of the service
- Introducing and documenting new techniques to optimize the service
- Maintaining a knowledge base
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification
- Extensive experience administering Check Point firewalls
- Solid networking knowledge (internet and routing protocols, IPv4, IPv6)
- Understanding of IT security concepts
- ITIL knowledge and experience with ITSM tools
- Knowledge of NetBox (IPAM) and Git
- Basic knowledge of Linux
- Knowledge of Ansible, Terraform and Python is desirable
- Experience in service level management as well as incident and problem management
- Familiarity with tools such as ServiceNow, Jira and Confluence
- Basic CI/CD knowledge: experience with Git and GitLab CI for automation
- Strong communication skills for collaboration in interdisciplinary teams
- Analytical thinking: strong problem-solving skills and analytical approach to resolve complex database and storage issues
- Very good spoken and written German is required for effective communication in the project environment and with our German-speaking customers.
