About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver safe, high-quality, evidence-based care within your area of specialism, acting as a clinical expert and role model.
- Support assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management of patients with complex or long-term conditions.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of care pathways and protocols based on national guidelines and best practice.
- Provide education, support, and counselling to patients and families, empowering them to understand and manage their health conditions.
- Act as a key contact for patients, ensuring consistent, coordinated care throughout their treatment journey.
- Signpost to additional services and resources to support holistic care.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Level 7 Palliative Care Registered Nurse (Adult, Child, or Mental Health, depending on specialty) with valid NMC registration.
- Significant post-registration experience in the relevant specialty area.
- Demonstrable specialist knowledge and advanced clinical skills within a defined field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Postgraduate qualification or recognised specialist training in the relevant clinical area.
- Non-medical prescribing qualification (if applicable to role).
- Experience in audit, service improvement, or clinical leadership.
- Teaching or mentorship qualification.
