About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver safe, high-quality, evidence-based care within your area of specialism, acting as a clinical expert and role model.
  • Support assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management of patients with complex or long-term conditions.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Level 7 Palliative Care Registered Nurse (Adult, Child, or Mental Health, depending on specialty) with valid NMC registration.
  • Significant post-registration experience in the relevant specialty area.
  • Demonstrable specialist knowledge and advanced clinical skills within a defined field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Postgraduate qualification or recognised specialist training in the relevant clinical area.
  • Non-medical prescribing qualification (if applicable to role).
  • Experience in audit, service improvement, or clinical leadership.
  • Teaching or mentorship qualification.
