About the role

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and 2-3 years of experience to join our team. This role goes beyond payroll processing, encompassing general accounting, tax filings, and treasury functions. The selected candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with Puerto Rico's tax and labor regulations while supporting the company's financial healch and decision-making.
  • Duties & Responsibilities Manage the company's end-to-end payroll process, including employee payments, deductions, and compliance with Puerto Rico wage and tax laws. Prepare and file all statutory tax returns and reports (IVU, CRIM, Patente Municipal, W-2, 480, etc.) Support general accounting activities, including A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations, and monthly closings. Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports. Maintain and update accounting and payroll systems (QuickBooks, Excel). Manage cash flow monitoring and treasury functions, including payments and collections. Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable regulations. Provide support during audits or reviews with external CPA firms. Collaborate with managment on budgeting and financial planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting (required)
  • 2-3 years of experience in accounting and/or payroll functions.
  • Strong knowledge of Puerto Rico tax and payroll regulations.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks (A/P & A/R) and Microsoft Excel (intermediate/advanced).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (Spanish/English)
  • Experience with Sage300 (ERP software) and CargoWise (logistices software)
  • CPA license or in progress (not required but valued).
