About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and maintain COBOL applications in legacy Mainframe environments
Work with CICS for online and batch processing
Use JCL, copybooks, memory areas and file structures to optimize processes
Manage DB2 databases and perform SQL queries; work with CHANGEMAN, TSO and VSAM
Perform integrations between internal and external files, ensuring data integrity
Handle large volumes of data with a focus on performance, stability and minimizing production impact
Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis and provide regression support
Provide maintenance and enhancements for critical applications
Ensure reconciliation, traceability and operational stability
Generate and validate operational and monitoring reports

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven experience in Mainframe environments, focused on high-performance applications
Experience with accounting systems, including reconciliations and batch processing
Track record working with legacy systems that contain critical code and high operational sensitivity
Knowledge of analyzing and correcting business rules for batch and online flows
Ability to implement enhancements without compromising stability or performance
Strong proficiency in COBOL
Desirable knowledge of Assembler and CICS
Knowledge of accounting processes and financial reconciliation
Experience generating and validating monitoring reports
Understanding of business rules with focus on operational cutoffs, alerts and status-based validations
Familiarity with FLOG, FITA4, UORG, CCFC8170 and related PPRT flows
Skill in reading and interpreting layouts, totals/summaries, accounting differentials and acceptance criteria
Experience with Hexavision is desirable
