About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the architecture strategy and execution for the SuperApp Porto.
Ensure mobile engineering excellence, architectural scalability, and technical sustainability.
Define, evolve, and govern the SuperApp architecture on Android (Kotlin) and iOS (Swift).
Govern the BFF layer implemented in Java (Spring Boot).
Manage app release cycles and ensure mature mobile CI/CD pipelines.
Implement and monitor continuous improvement cycles focused on engineering.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Solid experience in native mobile development — Android (Kotlin) and/or iOS (Swift) — with an architectural perspective across both platforms.
Strong experience with Java (Spring Boot) in BFF layers and integration with microservices ecosystems.
Strong knowledge in:
Large-scale app / super app architectures (modularization, design system, feature flags)
BFF patterns and experience-driven API contracts (REST, GraphQL, events, messaging)
Synchronous and asynchronous integrations
Hands-on experience with AWS and designing scalable, resilient cloud architectures.
Experience with mobile CI/CD, app store distribution, observability and SRE practices applied to mobile products.
Experience with metrics-driven engineering (DORA + mobile product metrics) and continuous improvement.
Technical leadership profile, with hands-on involvement when necessary.
Excellent communication skills to translate complex technical decisions for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong client relationship skills and the ability to lead strategic discussions.
