About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

You will act as a strategic partner to the Data Architect, ensuring that business systems, APIs and integrations developed by engineering teams deliver reliable, traceable and well-structured data for consumption by the organization’s data and AI platform.
Define and evolve the organization’s reference architecture for systems, ensuring scalability, resilience, maintainability and security;
Lead the Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) process, documenting and communicating key technical decisions and their contexts;
Evaluate and recommend technologies, frameworks, integration patterns and architectural approaches (microservices, event-driven, API-first, etc.) for different contexts across the organization;
Define API design standards (REST, GraphQL, gRPC, AsyncAPI) to ensure consistent, versionable contracts between systems;
Ensure that system architectures produce well-structured, traceable and consumable data for the data team, working closely with the Data Architect;
Define and implement the organization’s DevOps strategy and engineering platform, covering everything from repositories to production deployments;
Establish code repository organization standards — naming conventions, branch policies and Pull Request practices;
Design and oversee the implementation of robust CI/CD pipelines, ensuring automation of builds, tests, static analysis, security and deployments;
Define the organization’s systems integration strategy, establishing standards for synchronous and asynchronous communication between applications;
Serve as a technical reference for organizational leadership, translating technical complexity into clear, business-facing language;

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven experience as a Software Architect or Senior Engineer with a strong architectural background;
Strong knowledge of software architecture patterns: microservices, event-driven, hexagonal, CQRS, saga, API Gateway, etc.;
Proven experience with Microsoft Azure as a primary platform (App Services, AKS, Service Bus, API Management, Key Vault, etc.);
Experience with API design and governance (REST, versioning, documentation with OpenAPI/Swagger);
Strong DevOps and CI/CD practices using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions;
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform);
Solid knowledge of at least one backend development stack (.NET, Java, Python or Node.js);
Experience with messaging and event-driven architectures (Service Bus, Event Hub, Kafka or equivalents);
Experience providing technical leadership to engineering teams;
Experience defining standards for code quality, testing and technical documentation.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and containerization with Docker;
Knowledge of API management platforms (Azure APIM);
Familiarity with data contracts and integration with data platforms (Data Lake, Lakehouse);
Experience applying Domain-Driven Design (DDD) in real projects;
Knowledge of DORA metrics and high-performance engineering practices;
Experience with observability (OpenTelemetry, Jaeger, Grafana, Datadog);
Experience in regulated industries (financial, healthcare, legal).
