About the role
- Context: We are seeking a Software Engineer to help develop cloud security blueprints for Google Cloud Platform (GCP). These blueprints capture the security best practices used by the largest companies worldwide.
- A blueprint is a package of deployable, reusable modules and policies that implements and documents a specific security solution.
- Development work is performed on open-source projects.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (2+ years);
- Infrastructure automation with Terraform (1+ year);
- Solid software development background in Java, Python, or Go (3+ years);
- Ability to communicate in English (CEFR B2);
- Capacity to understand and develop requirements autonomously from minimal specifications, consistently demonstrating results and progress;
- Ability to test, investigate, analyze, solve, and communicate problems effectively;
- Propose and discuss solutions, and incorporate feedback received;
- Perform as a full software engineer: from understanding the problem to delivering the solution, including work on tests (manual and automated) and technical writing of manuals, tutorials, guides, or documentation;
- Ability to automate and optimize development tasks;
- Eagerness and ability to quickly learn and apply technologies beyond those you already know;
- Development experience with more than one programming language;
- Basic knowledge of cloud infrastructure security;
- Basic knowledge of Kubernetes and GKE;
- Hold any of the following GCP certifications: Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud Security Engineer, Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, Professional Cloud Developer, or Professional Cloud Network Engineer;
- Hold Terraform certification(s);
- Hold other GCP certifications (optional);
- Ability to communicate in English (CEFR C1+).
