About the role

  • Maintain and optimize AWS EC2 and EKS clusters to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Lead the troubleshooting of production outages, providing timely resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Engage with development teams to address questions, provide support, and share best practices for deployment and operations.
  • Effectively communicate with Directors and other stakeholders, providing updates on cluster status, incidents, and ongoing improvements.
  • Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions to streamline deployment processes.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and troubleshooting guides.

Requirements

  • Solid experience in DevOps/SRE roles with a strong focus on AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools.
  • Proficient in AWS services (EC2, EKS, IAM, S3, LoadBalancers, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes architecture and operations.
  • Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD tools.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
  • Understanding of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, CloudWatch or NewRelic).
  • Experience with IaC tools (Terraform or CloudFormation)
  • Experience with Helm charts (public and customized ones)
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to problem resolution.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Understanding of GitOps tools (Flux or ArgoCD) (Nice to have).
  • Knowledge of AWS CDK for IaC (Nice to have).
  • Familiarity with Java applications (Nice to have).
