About the role

  • Design and implement comprehensive data governance frameworks tailored to client needs, encompassing data quality, privacy, security, compliance, and stewardship.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including data owners, IT, and business units, to establish data governance policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and industry standards by conducting regular audits and assessments.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance data governance awareness and literacy among client staff.
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of data governance initiatives and report findings to stakeholders.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to data governance practices based on changing regulations, industry trends, and client feedback.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data governance policies, procedures, and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Experience working with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in data governance tools and technologies such as Unity Catalog, Purview and/or Alation
  • Fluency in English Communication
  • Nice to Have: Certifications in Data Governance or related areas.
  • Experience in project management and change management methodologies.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends in data governance and data privacy.
  • Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese.
