About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop stewardship-focused relationships with a portfolio of individuals, businesses, churches, donors, and foundations to engage support for the ministry.
- Develop and implement donor strategies for assigned regions to advance fundraising goals and the ministry's long-term sustainability.
- Strengthen and expand financial support, including major gifts, through intentional, long-term donor engagement with assigned individuals, churches, and foundations.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with donors so planned giving commitments to the agency increase annually.
- Travel regularly within assigned regions for in-person visits, classis meetings, relationship building, donor appreciation, and fundraising events.
- Maintain accurate records of donor interactions in databases to support the development of donor relationships.
- Collaborate with Advancement colleagues to strengthen strategies and share insights.
- Contribute to prospect research, proposal development, and strategic planning efforts that advance fundraising priorities.
- Regularly thank supporters and churches of the CRCNA and invite them to stay engaged with the ministry, including joining in prayer.
- Track expenses and maintain regular expense reports.
- Stay current with the best practices of professional fundraising.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Able to support the mission, vision, and values of the CRCNA.
- Demonstrated ability to encourage and inspire individuals to support ministry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to be self-motivated, work independently with minimal direction, and collaborate within a team environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and external contacts.
- Proven ability to plan and organize tasks and responsibilities, including multitasking, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Demonstrated proficiency in commonly used computer applications, internet research, and constituent relationship management tools.
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as marketing, communications, or non-profit management, is required or equivalent work experience.
- Basic experience in donor relations or advancement, with a proven track record in fundraising, is required.
