Key responsibilities & impact

Provide direct patient- and family-centered occupational therapy care under the direction of the Rehabilitation Leadership Team
Evaluate and assess patients based on functional needs
Develop treatment plans
Work with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
Adjust treatment plans as necessary
Participate in department-wide process improvement initiatives and program development as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
California Occupational Therapist license
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Interpersonal relationship and collaboration skills
Ability to set goals and judge results according to high standards
Ability to advance care through development of new ideas and technology
Ability to promote teamwork and support CHOC’s mission
Ability to understand and exceed customer expectations
Ability to effectively solve complex patient care and organizational problems
Ability to lift and carry 40–50 lbs.
Ability to push/pull approximately 150–200 lbs. for patients on beds or stretchers
Ability to perform lateral transfers of 150–200 lbs. for patients
Ability to perform the listed physical activities, including bending, climbing, keyboard use/repetitive motion, pushing/pulling, reaching, sitting, squatting/kneeling/crawling, standing, walking, twisting, and fine-motor activities
Ability to work in environments involving airborne communicable disease, bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, dust/particulate matter, extreme noise levels, extreme temperatures, radiation, and uneven surfaces or elevations
