About the role

- Develops and executes a content strategy that drives engagement and grows the audience.
- Manages the day-to-day operations of Chess.com's official Italian social media channels across various platforms.
- Actively monitors and engages with conversations, trends, and key creators within the global chess community.
- Analyzes and reports social media performance data and audience insights to inform content strategy and optimize for engagement, reach, and growth.
- Collaborates with marketing, content, and events teams to plan and execute social media campaigns.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Fluency in Italian
- Proven results by managing social media channels, preferably in the gaming, entertainment, or tech industry.
- Knowledge of chess, including rules, notation, tournament culture, key figures
- Demonstrated ability to create timely, and highly engaging content (memes, viral videos) that aligns with internet culture and brand voice.
- Proficiency with basic photo and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut).
- Deep understanding of content strategy, platform algorithms, and best practices for major social media platforms.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills suitable for a fully distributed, remote team environment.
- A high sense of ownership, accountability, and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity, with the ability to adapt content and messaging to Italian speaking communities while respecting cultural nuances.
- A sense of humor.
