About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Forecast natural gas demand.
  • Develop and manage supply & storage procurement strategies.
  • Suggest changes to the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control narratives as needed to address new control deficiencies.
  • Prepare work papers, produce documents, and reports for regulatory filings, rate cases and other reporting obligations.
  • Evaluate capacity holdings.
  • Invoice reconciliations.
  • Investigate data variances and propose solutions.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage 3rd party supply & transportation programs.
  • Cultivate off-system sales transactions/programs.
  • Manage the applicable LDC system according to tariff provisions.
  • Suggest changes to tariff rules to make the organization more streamlined, scalable, or economically competitive.
  • Assist in strategic planning and long-term commercial opportunities to support business needs.
  • Champion process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Additional duties, as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in energy management, finance, accounting, energy technology or a related field is required.
  • Two (2) to Four (4) years of experience in natural gas logistics or energy trading.
  • High level of conceptual knowledge of energy logistics, including pipelines, scheduling, contracting, forward pricing, index prices, constraints, supply points, and suppliers.
  • Possess an understanding of key business drivers.
  • Ability to solve standard problems by using acquired knowledge, experience, judgment and established precedents.
  • Understand the business unit’s Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control narratives, and the risks they are designed to control.
  • Advanced knowledge of natural gas markets.
  • High attention to detail and ability to learn energy management.
  • Intermediate skills in Excel.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate complex information in verbal and written form.
  • Ability to understand, interpret and use data effectively and ethically.
