About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Teach undergraduate courses within the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) curriculum in an online, asynchronous learning environment
- Facilitate student learning using evidence-informed teaching practices consistent with the CSWE Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS)
- Foster an engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes student success
- Connect students experiencing academic or personal challenges with appropriate college support services, including advising, tutoring, accessibility services, and counseling
- Maintain an active online presence in assigned courses a minimum of four days each week
- Monitor course discussions, provide timely and substantive feedback on assignments, and respond to student inquiries within established college timelines
- Attend faculty meetings, either virtually or in person as appropriate, including the annual faculty meeting when requested
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities
- Demonstrate cultural humility and the ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds
- Utilize Blackboard and other required instructional technologies effectively
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program or a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from a CSWE-accredited program
- Minimum of two (2) years of post-degree professional social work practice experience
- Previous higher education teaching experience
- Previous experience teaching in an online asynchronous learning environment, including the use of a learning management system such as Blackboard, Canvas, or a comparable platform
- Demonstrated knowledge of generalist social work practice, the NASW Code of Ethics, and the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS)
- Demonstrated proficiency using instructional technology, learning management systems, and common computer applications
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to foster an engaging, inclusive, and student-centered online learning environment
