About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Teach master’s and doctoral-level courses for the counseling programs
  • Develop curriculum, including student practicum and internship
  • Supervise counseling student-interns, including site visits
  • Advise and recruit students
  • Work cooperatively with clinical mental health agencies
  • Participate in program, school, and university activities such as information sessions, admissions processes, and workshops
  • Assist in occasional school and university recruitment activities
  • Teach face-to-face and synchronous online courses as needed
  • Consider leadership opportunities in the PhD program as appropriate

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • An earned doctorate in Counselor Education & Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program
  • Licensure-eligible in the state of South Carolina
  • Identification with the counseling profession through membership in professional organizations (e.g., ACA and/or its divisions)
  • Experience in teaching and clinical supervision of counselors-in-training
  • Evidence of scholarly activities related to clinical counseling and counselor training
  • Familiarity with technology, distance learning, and CACREP standards
  • Qualified to teach core counseling courses on CSU’s campus
  • Strong commitment to integrating Christian faith into counseling education and teaching doctoral students to do the same.
