Associate Professor – Counseling

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Teach master’s and doctoral-level courses for the counseling programs
- Develop curriculum, including student practicum and internship
- Supervise counseling student-interns, including site visits
- Advise and recruit students
- Work cooperatively with clinical mental health agencies
- Participate in program, school, and university activities such as information sessions, admissions processes, and workshops
- Assist in occasional school and university recruitment activities
- Teach face-to-face and synchronous online courses as needed
- Consider leadership opportunities in the PhD program as appropriate
Requirements
What you’ll need- An earned doctorate in Counselor Education & Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program
- Licensure-eligible in the state of South Carolina
- Identification with the counseling profession through membership in professional organizations (e.g., ACA and/or its divisions)
- Experience in teaching and clinical supervision of counselors-in-training
- Evidence of scholarly activities related to clinical counseling and counselor training
- Familiarity with technology, distance learning, and CACREP standards
- Qualified to teach core counseling courses on CSU’s campus
- Strong commitment to integrating Christian faith into counseling education and teaching doctoral students to do the same.
