About the role
- Develop and execute financial strategy aligned with organizational goals
- Prepare and present financial reports to executive leadership and Board of Directors
- Oversee and maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts
- Monitor cash balances, liquidity, and funding requirements
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and financial reporting standards specific to credit unions
- Serve as the primary liaison with auditors, regulators, and external partners
- Review and approve financial reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis
- Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and financial operations
- Support risk management and internal controls
- Partner with leadership on growth initiatives and organizational planning
- Drive improvements in financial processes, systems, and reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA strongly preferred
- Minimum of 8+ years of accounting/finance experience
- 5+ years in a CFO or senior leadership role
- MUST HAVE experience within a credit union environment
- Ability to operate in a hands-on capacity
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and regulatory compliance
- Risk management (interest rate risk, liquidity, etc.)
- Budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy
- Experience working with Boards and executive leadership teams
