Key responsibilities & impact

Supports LAN/WAN service availability through troubleshooting and problem resolution in production
Provides daily operational and sustainment support for DHA LAN/WLAN/WAN networks
Coordinates with Network Specialists on hardware and software upgrades
Implements approved changes
Supports network security barrier systems
Uses diagnostics to isolate protocol, media, latency, and bottleneck issues
Performs device reconfiguration or replacement as directed

Requirements

What you’ll need

DoD 8570.01 / 8570.01-M compliance at IAM Level II or equivalent
Security+ and CCNA or equivalent network architecture certification
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as computer science plus three years of related experience; or certified technical/vocational school plus five years of related experience
Proficiency in TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, RSTP, VRRP, BIND, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.1d, 802.1q, 802.1w, 802.3, 802.11, 802.3u, 802.3z, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, and Gigabit Ethernet
Experience with OTDR, cable testers, network sniffers, and EIA/TIA cable standards
Experience in routed, switched, and shared LAN environments using Microsoft OS, Windows Active Directory, UNIX, OpenVMS, routers, switches, terminal servers, local WAN, and long-haul WAN connectivity
High proficiency in Windows networks, Cisco Systems, and Orion SolarWinds
Ability to work under direction from Regional Senior Network Engineers and Referral Network Engineers on firewall, VPN, and IDS configuration
ADP sensitivity determination required
