About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own day-to-day sustainment and complex troubleshooting without needing constant senior oversight
  • Support DHA LAN/WAN capability through troubleshooting and problem resolution in production
  • Provide daily operational and sustainment support for DHA LAN/WLAN/WAN networks
  • Plan/install/support hardware and software upgrades
  • Implement enterprise changes under approved LAN/WLAN/WAN standards
  • Use SolarWinds/ARMIS/Ansible for network and routing issues
  • Support network security barrier systems
  • Use diagnostics to isolate latency, bottleneck, media, and protocol issues

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • DoD 8570.01 / 8570.01-M compliance at IAM Level II or equivalent
  • Security+ and CCNA or equivalent network architecture certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as computer science plus five years of related experience; or certified technical/vocational school plus eight years of related experience
  • Understanding and proficiency in TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, RSTP, VRRP, BIND, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.1d, 802.1q, 802.1w, 802.3, 802.11, 802.3u, 802.3z, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, and other DoD/DHA communications media
  • Experience with OTDR, cable testers, network sniffers, and EIA/TIA cable standards
  • Experience in routed, switched, and shared LAN environments using Microsoft OS, Windows Active Directory, UNIX, OpenVMS, routers, switches, terminal servers, local WAN, and long-haul WAN connectivity
  • Expertise in Windows networks, Cisco Systems, and Orion SolarWinds
  • Ability to establish/configure network firewalls, VPN devices, and IDSs
  • ADP sensitivity determination required
