About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own day-to-day sustainment and complex troubleshooting without needing constant senior oversight
- Support DHA LAN/WAN capability through troubleshooting and problem resolution in production
- Provide daily operational and sustainment support for DHA LAN/WLAN/WAN networks
- Plan/install/support hardware and software upgrades
- Implement enterprise changes under approved LAN/WLAN/WAN standards
- Use SolarWinds/ARMIS/Ansible for network and routing issues
- Support network security barrier systems
- Use diagnostics to isolate latency, bottleneck, media, and protocol issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- DoD 8570.01 / 8570.01-M compliance at IAM Level II or equivalent
- Security+ and CCNA or equivalent network architecture certification
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as computer science plus five years of related experience; or certified technical/vocational school plus eight years of related experience
- Understanding and proficiency in TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, RSTP, VRRP, BIND, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.1d, 802.1q, 802.1w, 802.3, 802.11, 802.3u, 802.3z, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, and other DoD/DHA communications media
- Experience with OTDR, cable testers, network sniffers, and EIA/TIA cable standards
- Experience in routed, switched, and shared LAN environments using Microsoft OS, Windows Active Directory, UNIX, OpenVMS, routers, switches, terminal servers, local WAN, and long-haul WAN connectivity
- Expertise in Windows networks, Cisco Systems, and Orion SolarWinds
- Ability to establish/configure network firewalls, VPN devices, and IDSs
- ADP sensitivity determination required
