About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Produce deliverables related to the assigned project
- Perform analysis, design, programming, and implementation of systems and procedures to solve complex business or scientific problems
- Evaluate interrelationships in the immediate programming area and assess how program changes affect related areas
- Apply conversions and enhancements to business systems
- Lead or provide expertise on assigned projects
- Work with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand requirements and design quality technical solutions
- Align solutions with business and IT strategies and architectural standards
- Provide post-implementation support and system enhancements
- Test modified programs, create test files and data, verify logic, debug, and write documentation
- Design and develop IT systems and devise new data sources, approaches, and techniques
- Participate in the full systems life cycle: designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting complex application software
- Provide guidance to lower-level programmers/analysts
- Act as an internal consultant and provide technical guidance on complex projects
- Determine and resolve problems with systems analysts, programmers, and systems users
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in a job-related field
- Alternatively, an associate degree plus an extra 2 years of job-related experience for a total of 8 years of required work experience, or 10 total years of required work experience
- 6 years of application development, systems testing, or other job-related experience
- Comprehensive understanding of application development, quality assurance, and integration methodologies in mainframe, midrange, web, and/or PC/LAN environments
- High technical proficiency in programming languages, platform capabilities, systems analysis, and program design
- Excellent analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Logical abstract thinking and ability to assimilate and adhere to project goals and deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team
- Strong knowledge of interpersonal skills/team building
- Familiarity with project management concepts
- Ability to assess requirements, alternatives, and risks/benefits for low- to high-impact projects
- Attention to detail
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients, and vendors
- In-depth understanding of organizational functions, behavior, and interrelationships
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant operating systems, programming languages, development tools, and their usage in the company
- Preferred: developing proficiency in .NET Framework and C#
- Preferred: awareness and basic knowledge of MS SQL
- Preferred: OnBase experience
