About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical skill, knowledge, and guidance for Instrument and Electrical maintenance across Distribution Facilities
  • Provide project design, installation, and associated documentation
  • Install and maintain Instrument & Electrical equipment throughout Distribution Facilities
  • Assist engineering and other I&E personnel on projects
  • Supervise external Instrument & Electrical contractors during major work
  • Develop and maintain facility process documentation, including P&IDs and electrical prints
  • Train operations personnel in troubleshooting Instrument & Electrical equipment
  • Assist in establishing preventative maintenance programs and recordkeeping
  • Provide electrical work safety training for operations personnel
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and provide related training for Instrument & Electrical equipment at all DF terminals and warehouses
  • Travel regularly to out-of-state, overnight locations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Equivalent of 5–10 years of experience in a plant Instrument & Electrical department or related work
  • Undergraduate technical degree helpful, but not required
  • Deep background in instrumentation and controls, with emphasis on PLC/HMI installations
  • Familiarity with Modicon and AB PLC software, including RS Logix and RS Studio
  • AutoCAD experience preferred
  • Hands-on experience with control panel and field wiring
  • Experience with instrument calibration using 4–20 mA and 3–15 PSI control loops
  • Familiarity with PID loops and tuning preferred
  • Experience with OSHA process safety management, including MOCs, PSSRs, PHAs, and LOPA preferred
  • Have or be able to obtain a TWIC card and passport
  • Time management skills and self-discipline to work prolonged periods with minimal supervision
  • Prior supervisory and/or project management experience preferred
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Must be able to travel 70–80% of the time
