Senior Project Manager
Center for Policing EquitySenior Project Manager for the Center for Policing Equity improving health equity for women of color. Overseeing project management and stakeholder alignment in a remote role.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Senior Science Advisor’s project oversight by proactively managing the scope, timeline, and budget in alignment with the signed work agreement.
- Build, track, and monitor the project plan, in Asana, with milestones, tasks, and relevant dependencies outlined.
- Collaborate with the Senior Science Advisor to monitor project goals and success metrics.
- Coordinate with the full project team, including internal and external stakeholders to monitor progress on, and blockers to, project deliverables.
- Identify and escalate risks and mitigation strategies in a timely manner, coordinating with the appropriate stakeholders to successfully resolve them.
- Generate agendas for recurring project team meetings, making sure to incorporate enough lead time for input.
- Document key decisions and needs during internal and external project meetings, ensuring timely follow-up on next steps.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with the project team and leadership stakeholders through written and verbal updates.
- Organize and maintain up-to-date project documentation to support collaboration between all members of the project team.
- Facilitate an effective project close process, holding a retrospective and ensuring all relevant files are accurate and accessible to stakeholders, and that any information needed to inform future scopes of work is readily available.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with other PMO team members to ensure project resource allocation is balanced against other project priorities.
- Consult regularly with the Portfolio Manager to discuss project progress and (where necessary) adapt project management strategies.
- Other duties as assigned by the Portfolio Manager.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of project management experience
- Demonstrated experience with project management methodologies and tools
- Ability and willingness to adapt and apply new tools and processes in a maturing organization
- Proficient in project management software and strong organizational skills
- Ability to handle ambiguity and juggle multiple priorities at the same time
- Ability and willingness to adapt to change
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Experience working in a remote environment is preferred
- Strong commitment to racial justice and passion for CPE’s mission.
