About the role
- Conduct comprehensive case management, including initial assessments, enrollment documentation, and ongoing follow-up to ensure positive outcomes and fulfillment of contractual goals.
- Develop tailored Household Economic Stability Plans for each participant, outlining career goals, financial planning, and strategies to address employment barriers.
- Ensure all participants are connected to appropriate Resettlement Network Services, such as employment and career support, family education, and legal assistance, through meaningful referrals and coordinated efforts with partner organizations.
- Establish relationships with local employers to create job placement and career advancement opportunities for program participants.
- Facilitate sector-specific training programs in collaboration with employers and training providers, aligning with industry needs to promote employment stability and career pathway development.
- Coordinate pre- and post-employment services, offering supportive services like transportation, childcare, and career counseling to ensure participant retention and success in their roles.
- Actively participate in Resettlement Network Service Collaborative meetings and trainings, contributing to shared goals, progress measurement, and mutual learning to enhance service delivery.
- Utilize the Minnesota Refugee Information System (MRIS) to document participant progress, track outputs such as job placements and training completions, and update follow-ups within required timelines (e.g., 90-day post-employment reports).
- Ensure all program activities and outreach efforts are aligned with MN DHS guidelines and represent the services as part of the MN Resettlement Network in all promotions and participant engagements.
- Maintain regular communication with participants, offering guidance and support to improve job retention and long-term career success.
- Ensure timely documentation of services provided, including participant eligibility verification, service outputs, and outcomes, as per MN DHS requirements, ensuring data privacy and compliance with MRIS tracking protocols.
- Provide monthly updates on employment status and job search progress to the county or Refugee Cash Assistance worker for the duration of the participant’s active involvement in the program.
- Represent CAIRO at community and professional events to promote services and expand networks, ensuring collaborative partnerships are developed and participants’ needs are met through integrated services.
- Act as a liaison between participants, employers, and service providers to ensure participants' smooth transition into employment and career pathway opportunities, particularly for priority populations, including newly arrived refugees and those on cash assistance programs.
Requirements
- A minimum of two years of experience working with BIPOC and low-income communities.
- Fluency in languages relevant to African immigrant communities (e.g., Somali, Amharic, Oromo, Kiswahili) is Required.
- Experience in career counseling or case management is a plus.
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- A bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Education, Social Work, Human Resources, or a related field is Required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is required and familiarity with MRIS is a plus.
