About the role
- Direct, negotiate and handle activities of the business units finance, accounting and analysis functions
- Manage the Profit & Loss (P&L) for the Central region of Medicare, with Texas as the largest market
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports ensuring requirements are met
- Interpret financial reports for management team
- Review, communicate, and present strategic plans, operating budgets and forecasts
- Identify financial trends and collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate underlying drivers
- Provide financial plan for performance variances, operating alternatives, program and investment initiatives
- Monitor and analyze business processes and systems to ensure data and system integrity
- Present detailed financial insights to executive Medicare leadership
- Lead and manage a team of 2–3 direct reports
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7+ years of accounting or financial analysis experience
- Previous management experience including responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work and managing performance of staff
- Experience in public accounting, operations, information systems and health care or insurance preferred
