About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage accounting activities and prepare timely financial reports, including profit and loss reports, cash flow analyses, income statements, balance sheets, and supporting schedules
  • Partner with the finance team on month-end close and financial reporting preparation
  • Perform variance analysis and maintain the KPI dashboard with over 95% formula and data accuracy
  • Execute and oversee general ledger entries and reconciliations
  • Oversee payroll processing, deductions, bonuses, and tax withholdings
  • Manage contract time entries, reconcile billable hours, and support accurate invoicing
  • Mentor, train, and coordinate accounting staff workflows
  • Handle quarterly 401(k) and profit-sharing deposits
  • Participate in proposals for new government contracts and support compliant government and prime-contract billing and accounts receivable collections
  • Develop budgets, collaborate on assumptions and reforecasts, and oversee cash flow, banking operations, and working capital
  • Prepare invoices, manage accounts payable and vendor relationships, review expenses, and process reimbursements
  • Implement internal controls, support audits and compliance, and prepare for external reviews
  • Monitor financial systems, resolve data issues, and contribute to migrations, process enhancements, and compliance initiatives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize accounting workflows
  • Report to the founders and support company growth

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of financial statement preparation, multi-entity consolidation, and GAAP compliance
  • Demonstrated experience with financial statement preparation, multi-entity consolidation, and ASC guidance
  • Proficiency in Excel, including advanced lookup, index/match formulas, and model-building
  • Proven ability to identify and address data anomalies in financial reports
  • Experience leading or supporting financial audits and meeting tax requirements
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present financial insights to finance leaders
  • Experience in public accounting is highly preferred
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is preferred
  • Prior experience with federal government contracting rules and DCAA compliance is preferred
  • CPA or CMA is preferred
