About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Spearhead development and execution of federal advocacy strategies to advance CEBA’s policy priorities
- Build, steward, and leverage relationships with federal elected and appointed officials, staff, corporate members, philanthropic donors, and external partners
- Leverage an active and growing Political Action Committee
- Help set Government Affairs team goals, priorities, and strategies
- Represent CEBA in policy, political, and fundraising settings
- Manage and mentor direct reports, providing strategic direction, coaching, and resourcing
- Prepare regular internal, external, and member-facing communications
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 7+ years of relevant work experience
- Substantial advocacy experience derived from private-sector work, or relevant experience working for a Committee or senior and active Member of Congress
- Significant and mature political network on both sides of the aisle in both the House and Senate
- Solid understanding of legislative process, behaviors and norms of both chambers and their interaction with the Administration and agencies
- Ability to be a federally registered lobbyist, and an understanding of federal gift rules and lobbying compliance
- Superb and demonstrable communications skills
- Ability to travel up to 30%
